Most recently as Deputy Minister for Population and Employment Affairs, he has represented Indonesia internationally and nationally. He served as a loan operation officer for the OPEC Fund for International Development, Vienna. At the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS) his 35-year career included working and leading in areas of Socio-economic and Spatial Planning, Poverty Reduction, Social Protection and Welfare, Financial Services and SOEs, as well as Advisor for Leading Sector and Infrastructure Development which covers food security, energy security, maritime, tourism, and industry. Under his supervision BAPPENAS published, “Unlikely Heroes, The Bureaucrats Behind Indonesia’s Community Empowerment Initiative (1994-2014)” (ISBN 978-602-52841-4-4) in April 2020.
